An ongoing obsession with pattern and cups lead to me painting 'Cups II & III'. To me cups mean more than the comforting coffee I sip while I cradle them in my hands. Cups have come to sybolise so many good things.

The layered meaning of these small paintings is reflected in the layering of colour, tone and line. Colour over colour. Line over tone. Tone over line. It's important to me that images be more than what they first seem. But if you just enjoy it for the delightful cup pattern that's fine with me!
