Each vintage obi bag is sewn one at a time and no two are ever the same, even if they are cut from the same obi (kimono sash). Obi are strong and durable, meant to last for generations. The bag body is made of sturdy black cotton duck. There is a small pocket on the outside and a larger, divided pocket on the inside. The bag closes securely with a magnetic clasp.

The obi fabric covers both the front and back, so you can wear it with the opening against your body (a good idea while riding the subway or bus) and still look gorgeous. I can only make a very limited number of bags from each obi, so if you see a design you like, grab it before someone else does!

This style also makes a supremely elegant diaper bag!
