Frankenbunny Glow in the Dark Crochet Pattern
Description
***** Pattern only, not finished item. *****I was making a glow in the dark Frankenbunny the other day for my grandkids Halloween treat and the thought occurred to me that others might like this as well, so here is the pattern! (along with the original Frankenbunny 3D)
Note:
If you have already purchased the 3D Marshmallow Bunnies pattern you do not need this pattern. Just substitute the glow in the dark yarn for the regular yarn used in the Frankenbunny that is included in the package.
Frankenbunny is really easy to crochet, requiring only single crochet and half double crochet stitches to complete and since he is small, (a little over 6" tall) he takes very little yarn!
I used Red Heart Super Saver yarns for the original Frankenbunny and when I saw the new Bernat Glow in the Dark stuff at my local Michael's I knew I HAD to do him again in this yarn! I used all 6 available colors on my version but you could get by with fewer colors easily. You could also combine glow and non glow yarn. I actually thought of doing one in regular yarn but using the glow white for the area of his ear that is bitten off so only his "insides" would glow. Creepy!
He could be completed in other yarns to give you a much larger or smaller bunny, depending on what you want. His features are simple. He is modeled after the Marshmallow Peeps bunnies and as most of you know, they are not heavy on the facial features. If you wanted you could either paint or embroider the three black dots and he would look great, or you can go a bit farther and add other embellishments or embroidery features as you like. If you want him super creepy you could do things like add more areas of "stitches" or have an ear appear to be coming off by simply not attaching it to the head all the way across then sewing the two openings closed, or adding a white gussett area (explained in the pattern) to close. It's up to you! Have fun with this one!
Be sure to post photos and let me know where I can go see them. You may show up in my blog!
Pattern is 4 pages with photos and comes with my "How Do I" photo crochet tutorials on changing color, decreasing, and crocheting around the edges.
