Description

Enamel on copper. The background is an opaque white and the butterfly wing images are opaque violet. There is another "shadow" image of the wings in a light blue for dimension. The enamel is high fired for a glossy finish and the back is counter enameled for durability. The pieces are created by sifting powdered glass in layers and firing the glass till it fuses for each color. This is glass on metal, and although not incredibly fragile, it does need to be handled with care like your other hand crafted jewelry! Appx. 2'' in diameter, this is a large pendant. Due to the nature of enameling, no two are alike, and some variations in pattern or sifting can be found. Sterling silver bale, chain and clasp. The chain is appx. 16" and has a textured finish.
