Taos Moonlight
Description
A wonderful, organic piece of antique foundry glass, called "Leland Blue", is the centerpiece of this simple necklace. Gary Wilson of Tuscon gathers the glass and shapes each one individually--no two are alike and it has become a sought-after material by jewelry designers.I've given it a simple setting with hammered sterling findings and a heavy black rubber cord. All of the silverwork is my own, hammered on desert stone for texture and oxidized. This one is great to dress up or down, and would make a wonderful men's necklace as well!
It's called "Taos Moonlight" because it's exactly the color of moonlit air in the high desert. I saw a painting of a night scene by one of the old Taos artists once, and he had captured just that color...wonderful.
Size: 19" long total; it hangs at or just below the collar bone. Foundry glass is 1" x 1 1/4" x 1/2".
Care: Wash gently and hand-dry.
The Taos Moonlight necklace will arrive lovingly gift-wrapped in a hand-stamped box, with an accompanying handwritten label and information sheet on antique foundry glass.
