VINTAGE VICTORIAN WEDDING DRESS SILK LACE BRIDAL

Description

This gorgeous off white silk dress is delicate and lovely. It looks like what the Victorians called a lingerie dress, but has the extra pleated cross over pieces on the bodice. This dress could be displayed with a small hoop, to show off the fullness of the skirt. This is about the finest, thinnest silk I've seen. The term tissue silk comes to mind. There are, of course, no labels, and measurements are done flat and are approximate.

Waist: 24”

Total length from back neck seam to hem: 55”

Sleeve length from top shoulder: 18 ½”

Armpit to armpit (back): 20”. Front is more ample but to hard to measure.

Back neck seam to waist seam: 14”

Almost everything we sell is as-is, as most vintage clothing has at least a minor flaw from age, wear, or storage. I disclose all flaws that I can find. Please resolve any issues about the problems in your mind, and please ask any questions, before buying.

Flaws: This dress is in fragile condition, and I don't consider it wearable. It would be best as a display piece. There is a small mend (patch) under the left arm and a very small hole under the right arm. There is a mend (patch) on the back hemline (about 2x7”) but pretty hard to detect unless looking for it. There are a couple splits in fabric above the patch. I tested the fabric in different areas and with pulling pressure it did not split. But, there are areas where the fabric is stressed. There are several light spots near the hemline, again not major. There are tiny holes in the lace here and there from age, but not significant. We are selling this dress for study or display purposes only. There is no way to guarantee fit, so we do not accept returns for incorrect fit as Etsy does not have a dressing room.
