Orange Sardonyx Banded Natural Stone Bookmark Bookthong with Carnelian and Sterling Accents

Ever want a pretty bookmark but worry that the center stones, while decorative, will press into your book and ruin the spine? This is a simple thin cord with colorful Natural stones at either end to make an attractive and practical way to mark your page in a book.

Sardonyx is a favorite stone of mine, and I stumbled on a strand of pretty 30x20mm rectangular flat stones at a decent price. After filing the holes larger I decided to use them as bookmark stones because they are fairly durable and very pretty. I matched them with quality orange Carnelian beads and got a look I thought I'd share :)

This particular book thong/ book marker is made with a beautiful piece of creamsicle colored orange striped Sardonyx. There is some dark orange as well, but it all merges nicely in my opinion. The bookmarker is designed to lay flat inside your book with a stone overlapping at each end. I added two Bali Sterling Silver beads as an accent to help make this bookthong different. The Carnelian at the bottom helps anchor the bookmark while picking up some of the hues of the top Sardonyx piece. This book marker uses a soft thin black cord (so as not to mar the pages of your reading material). It is 14 1/8 inches (35.5 cm) in length but only *8 1/2* inches (21.5 cm) is available (recommended) as used inside the book. This length covers mostly paperbacks and some hardbacks and family Bibles but it is too short for magazines or dictionaries. If there is a certain length you need, I am happy to take advance orders or change the length on this one :) The hard part of filing the bead hole large enough to thread a cord is done so restringing on a longer cord is a (free) piece of cake :)

Each of these thongs are OOAK as the pattern can be duplicated but not the stones themselves; each stone is always different from each other. The book thong will ship in a gift box and a bubblewrap mailer to make sure it gets to you securely.
