Upcycled Denim with Black and White Stripes Purse

Description

This purse is made partially from repurposed materials and partially from new materials. The exterior of the purse is denim, salvaged from an old pair of jeans. The lining of the bag is made from a black and white striped satiny fabric (polyester). The purse is technically reversible, but I think it looks better with the denim outside and satiny lining. There is a small pocket on the denim side of the bag (also from the pair of jeans), and there is black polyester lace reinforcing the corners of the satiny side. The bag does not have any closure devices.

The body of the purse measures 12 inches wide by 13 inches high (30 cm x 33 cm), and the purse is sewn so that it has an approximately 2 inch base at the bottom. The straps are 26 1/2 inches (67 cm) long, making it long enough for most people to wear slung across their chest. The pocket is approximately 4 1/2 inches (11.4 cm) long by 4 inches (10cm) wide, though it does have points that are longer and wider than these dimensions. Most newer model cell phones will fit in the pocket very comfortably, and even older cell phones or a video iPod would fit into the pocket.
