Moss Peppermint Pincushion (V2) 1

Description

This grass green version of the Moss Peppermint Pincushion is more abstract and highlights the working process; it's also exclusively filled with fragrant organic peppermint.

This cute little pincushion has been needle-felted to look like moss with a base of dark chocolate brown roving (the “soil), then a grass green “moss” layer is on the top. The yarn that I used is wrapped around the piece and needle felted on (the yarn is super fine and about the thickness of three pieces of thread spun together – only fuzzy).

The pincushion is filled with organic peppermint and should release it's lovely scent for a few years, after which you could always drop a few drops of peppermint essential oil on the top.

These pincushions are lightweight because they are made of wool and will lift when you attempt to pull out a pin, so you can simply use a piece of Velcro to attach it to your craft table.

This pincushion could also be used as a sachet and can be used many places: you can pop it in a drawer, place it upon your dresser, or put it your powder room! If you don't have a green thumb, place one or more on a shelf (they look great in groups...they like the company) or in a glass jar for a faux terrarium! These are also perfect if you work indoors, particularly in an office situation, and you'd like a little spot of green!

The Moss Collection is made using the needle felting process. The "moss" is needle felted into each piece. I take care to securely felt the "moss" into my products; however, the "moss" is quite fragile when tugged and may come apart. Normal gentle use will not be a problem, but rough use or if your young child gets a hold of it may (trust me on the latter, I know). Please keep this pincushion from small children.

This pincushion is approx. 2 1/2 in. x 2 1/4 in. x 1 1/2 in. (6.5 cm. X 5.75 cm. x 3.75 cm.)
