I have always loved Hawaiian leis and all things tropical since my birthday is in July -- my mother always had a "Hawaiian Luau" for my party. There was a mimosa tree in our New York backyard that bloomed during the summer and we always sat under this in our muumuus with leis around our necks.

One of the next plants I want to add to my "botanical garden" are plumeria -- the first painting I sold on Etsy was of plumeria and the buyer said she grows 100 different varieties of this.

I am excited and this is why I painted this -- the second in a series I will be working on.
