Blue Weevil Display

Here's the trendiest beetle I've come across lately. Weevils such as these have recently been featured on all kinds of literature and advertising, and it's no wonder because they are so captivating! Their little faces have a quizzical look that is quite charming and their color is exceptional.
This pair is Eupholus bennetti from Papua New Guinea. Weevils are so colorful because they are poisonous to predators who would like to eat them. They get their poison from eating sweet potato leaves.
These weevils are about an inch tall, and their blue and turquoise colors are all natural. Their frame is about 8x10" in size and is double-matted in black and ivory mattes. The outer edge is made from black wood and the entire thing is about an inch deep. It comes ready to hang on your wall or stand upright.
