… there deep in the Atherton Tableland, Tropical North Queensland, is a beautiful waterfall; possibly one of the best falls for swimming, with a lagoon style water basin that gradually moves from shallow to deeper. There is also a ledge behind the falls allowing swimmers to be immersed by the waterfall. Platypus and turtles can be found in the plunge pool of the falls. Cascades flowing with crystal clear water are found throughout the jungle that represents the largest remaining fragment of tropical rainforest in Australia. They carve a ruggedly spectacular landscape into the mountains that hug the coast of the Coral Sea.

Called “Rainforest Jasper” this form of Rhyolite is mined in Australia, and has some of the most interesting patterns of any stone. This beautiful carving is highlighted with vermeil blossoms and flanked by a shaded array of unexpected attendants. The darker choices are poppy jasper and dark phase yellow turquoise. The lightest pieces are aquamarine and all are punctuated with vermeil daisy spacers. Delicate wire wrapped accents combine grossular garnet drops with yellow turquoise, and amber discs which are repeated at the jade toggle. A perfectly balanced piece of art poised to encircle your neck, reminiscent of that forest glade from the other side of the earth. If you close your eyes … you might hear the call of the platypus in the distance …

Vermeil is sterling silver with a heavy coating of gold. It wears very well and will give you years of pleasure in this fine piece. It should be maintained as you would sterling silver. This necklace will arrive with a special tarnish-fighting insert. Full care instructions will be provided.
