A little whimsical, a little surreal, this original painting depicts a crow, the moon and an illustration reminiscent of the first commercial balloon flight over an old medieval town.

I drew the crow, balloon and sun on paper and cut it out and collaged them onto the wood panel. The panel was painted black and prepared with a thick layer of ivory acrylic paint. I then scratched out the image of the medieval rooftops. The entire piece is coated with a gloss varnish for added luster and protection.
