Celebrate Life Fused Glass Bowl

Description

This whimsical bowl is full of surprises, just like viewing a drop of water through a microscope. Yellow swirls, blue swiggles, & white drops all work together to create an intriguing fused glass bowl.

I began with a circle of clear glass, and topped that with three pieces of sea green and light blue glass, cut and ground to fit. Then I began creating with pieces of stringer (thin round pieces of glass) melted into swirls and twirls. I added square and round glass pieces of white, yellow, and blue. I fused the entire piece at 1485 degrees, annealing it slowly to create strength.

The second fusing was a slump fuse, where the piece formed a bowl shape on a form. I added bits of clear glass frit in a tack fuse to create texture.

"Celebrate Life" is 10" round by 3" deep.
