Blossom - Art Doll

Description

"Blossom by blossom the spring begins" by Algernon Charles Swinburne was the starting point for this first in a series of art dolls depicting the 4 seasons.

Blossom is 27 inches tall and is not meant to be a child's plaything only for the child at heart! I hand embroidered her face. Her hair is hand rooted, strand by strand. Vintage millinary blossoms wind around her neck and torso. A vintage hanky forms the bodice of her blouse and her body is made of vintage cottom and stuffed with hypoallergenic poly-fiberfill. Blossom's sassy miniskirt is a vintage multi colored doily and her groovy granny boots are "laced up" with embroidery floss.

I treasure the workmanship of the busy fingers of the past and it makes me happy to be able to re-purpose these items for us to enjoy today!
