1892 Ohio Infantryman - Tombstone Rubbing Silk Scarf - 8 X 54
Description
I love the cemetery. It is a great place to commune with the dead, my crayon, and my silk. It's like going to a mellow party where I get to meet people one-on-one and spend as much time with them as I like. There are many Ohio Infantrymen at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. This one was different from the others. His grave was not in the Civil War area, but set apart with other civilian graves. Another peculiarity, his marker had one additional word: musician. This made me smile. And I imagined he was smiling back at me.
Don't worry, though. I think he likes his restful place at Greenlawn under the trees. He probably keeps the others content, too, by playing music for them. I don't know which instrument, but I'm guessing some type of horn.
This Habotai silk scarf is 8" X 54". I make tombstone rubbings on the scarf using multiple grave markers and lightfast, fabric crayons. The imprints are heat set and permanent. The scarf has been washed and pressed, and is ready to wear.
Hand wash cool water. Hang to dry. Press with an iron on silk setting.
Each scarf is unique and one of a kind, just like the deceased. And just like you. The photos show the actual scarf listed.
