Striking Vintage WWII 40s Black Persian Lamb Fur Coat now Vest - As Is

This circa 30s 40s coat makes a striking vest without its sleeves. This is how we found it and the person who took off the arms did an adequate job of resewing around the armholes, but we feel this could use some professional help.

It flares out from the bust line generously and has a striking wide notched collar. The lining is remarkable - a rich black smooth satin dotted with a red and ochre floral print. It has two sets of ties - top and bottom - on the inside and a zippered breast pocket surrounded by a black braid trim. It has two outside hidden slash pockets that are reinforced around the edges with suede - suede around the armholes would certainly be one option. It does up with three furrier hooks & eyes and there is an extra hook and eye on the notched collar for those extra cold days. Exceptionally well made by J. Alb. Durand Fourrures in Trois Rivieres, Quebec. Fabulous!

As a coat we have to call it cutter without the arms for condition purposes. As a vest, very good condition where you may want to reinforce the arm openings. Otherwise, the fur itself and the lining are excellent: no smell, supple fur and the lining is truly sublime.
