Sisterhood of the Traveling Necklace--Footprints Poem or Create Your Own

I have the greatest story about this piece! Recently I attended a women's retreat that my neighbor invited me to through her church. I had a wonderful time and in addition to the experiences of the retreat itself, I had an unexpected gift...

Months ago I created a necklace for a women in my neighborhood after her son had an ATV accident. The necklace had the scripture Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." To view this necklace: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12554729

This scripture had special meaning to her during this trying time; she had read it repeatedly to help her through the long nights in the hospital at his bedside. Her son has recovered, miraculously actually, according to his doctors, and she thanked me for this gift that she rubbed and kept close to her heart each of those long days.

At the retreat, I learned that this person recently gave the necklace to another woman that is currently going through some trying times. My neighbor said this necklace will be like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants; not just looking great on everyone but also seeing them through times of trouble.

I knew I had to tell this amazing story and offer a version of it in my shop. I am giving free shipping on every one of these I sell and will create a special card telling this beautiful story that touched me so deeply.

The necklaces shown were inspired by Mary Stevenson's 1936 poem Footprints in the Sand. The first one has cut out footprints from a 1" disc and then I stamped "I will carry you". The second version is also a 1" disc and has etched footprints with "those were the times I carried you" stamped around it. Finally, a dog tag stamped with "You're not alone".

You can create a custom version of this with the above mentioned scripture or your own scripture, quote, or wording. You can also purchase one of varieties shown, just specify at checkout.
