Shino Bowl Carbon trap

Description

You are looking at a medium size Shino bowl that has been fired in a gas kiln. The glaze is a special carbon trap Shino, which does amazing effects in the kiln.

The patterns and colors developed on the surface are dependent on several things when it comes to this glaze. It matters how thin your piece is, how you glaze it, thickness of the glaze, how long you let the glaze dry on the pot before firing it, where in the kiln it is placed, which pieces are next to it… and the list goes on. Every bowl in this glaze comes out different yet they all go together.

This listing is for one bowl.
Dimensions: 7.5” diameter and 3.5” high.

All my work is made from Stoneware and Porcelain. After the pieces are made, they get fired once in a bisque fire and then high fired with durable glazes that will not fade. All glazes are food and dishwasher safe.
