Serpentine (New Jade) - carved pendant with bird
Description
This is a beautiful piece! An square of pale, glowing, greenish-white serpentine with a dove and flower design carved into both sides. A hole runs from top to bottom through the center.The common trade name for this type of Serpentine is "New Jade". New Jade is not actually a form of Jade, it is just a name used by bead sellers because Jade is a more familiar name to most people, and this quality of Serpentine can resemble that stone. Whatever you want to call it, it is beautiful!
The pendant measures 25mm on each side of the square, and is 5mm thick.
