diamond, gold, silver collage ring

14k gold
oxidized sterling silver
argentium sterling silver
1.5mm black diamond
1.75mm diamond
making this ring took many hours, I fuse layers of sterling silver and 14k gold to a sheet of argentium silver. I then hammer the sheet and cut it to size. I hammer the fused sheet into a ring and solder the ring closed. I form another ring from silver sheet and slip the fused ring over it. Using hammers and other tools I fold the inside ring over the edges of the fused ring to complete the edges and give the ring a nice thickness and weight. I then choose a stone, in this one I flush set a diamond and a black diamond.
The ring is oxidized and the patina will change as it is worn.
These rings always evolve as I make them, I never know exactly what they will look like until I am finished, no two are the same, it's like making a collage.
