Giant Winter Flower Brooch in Ice Blue, White, and Pastel Tones - A Hand Felted Wool Pin

This hand felted flower brooch would make a beautiful, bold accessory for your purse, coat, or anywhere else. The giant flower is a mix of fine merino wool and silk. It measures approximately 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter! Its colors include ice blue, white, and pastel tones. It has a base metal pin back that is sewn on. This giant flower was hand felted individually by me, the funky felter, and the flower pin in the photo is the exact one that you'll receive.




A LITTLE ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE . . .
This giant flower pin was made through a combination of needle felting and traditional wet felting. The needle felting technique uses long barbed needles to sculpt the wool fibers into shape. The wet felting technique uses hot water, soap, and agitation to merge raw wool fibers into a solid material. I hand form each flower using a mix of both techniques. My flower pins are made from scratch like all my other items. Although color schemes may be similar, each flower is a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art that I could not duplicate exactly even if I tried. That is the beauty of it all and why I love to make them.

SOME SIMPLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS . . .
Gently wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or apply heat.
