Scottish Art doll Iona with tartan pinafore dress

Description

Iona is a unique and quirky little doll who loves clothes. She is wearing a crisp white blouse and an empire style tartan pinafore dress with black satin band and a beaded flower hair clip. She makes a lovely gift for art doll collectors and enthusiasts.

She measures approx. 17 x 8 cm (6 3/4" x 3 1/4"), is filled with polyfil and can be shipped anywhere in the world.

The front of the doll is made up of a detailed multi layered fabric collage, techniques used include applique, quilting, machine and hand stitching, the back is made from 2 separate pattern pieces. The face is made of cotton, the image comes from one of my own drawings using a technique I developed myself.

The initial inspiration for the Iona doll was the 1960s British children's cartoon "Crystal tips and Alistair" and the idea grew from there.

Not suitable for babies and young children.
