My husband, son and I took a bus from Edinburgh to Abernathy to visit the town where ancestors from my mom’s side of the family were born. The village of Abernathy has a rich history. Abernathy is famous for its Celtic Round Tower. The Abernathy Tower is one of only two in Scotland and dates from the early 9th century. We were able to get the key to the tower from the Tea House next door and climb to the top which overlooks the centuries old graveyard.
