This beautifully handcrafted poinsettia has been intricately carved with great detail to catch the lights and shadows in your home.

Here are a few fun facts about this little beauty: In Mexican folklore, there is a story of a poor little girl who had nothing to bring to church for Christmas. On her way to church, she picked some plants by the side of the road. As she entered the church, the ends of the leaves turned into brilliant red flowers!
Poinsettia Day was pronounced as an Act of Congress in honor of Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first Ambassador to Mexico who brought the plant back to his Greenville, SC plantation and gave them out as gifts to friends.

This design was originally created as an ornament for your holiday tree but most folks hang them all year round in a favorite window to catch the sunlight and create shadow magic.

Each poinsettia is hand carved from high quality porcelain and fired in an electric kiln to 2381 degrees. I do not use molds or slip cast any items. I spend many hours carving each piece and smoothing rough edges to create the intricate details.

The poinsettia measures about 4 inches in diameter and is laced with a white or deep burgundy/red satin ribbon. You may pick your ribbon color by contacting me at the contact section. If you do not choose a color, I will ship it with whatever I have in stock. It looks great with both colors so I don't think you will be disappointed either way. Each poinsettia is slipped into a homemade satin pouch for safekeeping after being removed from your tree.
