Size: Approximately 3 ½” high x 4” long x ½” thick
Woods used: Aspen, Black Walnut, Exotic

Designed by Kathy Wise, Created by Me! Each section of this horse was cut from solid hardwood, shaped, sanded, and glued together. The back was sanded flat. I’ve added some wood burning for accent, then soaked the ornament in Tung oil which brings out the natural colors of the woods. No paints, stains, or dyes were used when making this ornament. A screw eye was added on its back – just add a hook or ribbon to hang on your tree.

My exotic wood comes from a custom flooring store. They take all of their scraps and throw them into a bin. I’m able to get these cut-offs and use them in my projects, but don’t always know the species of wood.

Not only do the ornaments look great on the Christmas tree, they make great gift toppers! Add one to the top of a box of homemade cookies for teachers, postal workers, or others.
