Budded- Metal Ornamental Cross

Description

This unisex metal cross consists of intricate, ornamental openwork composed of delicate, intertwined wire threads. It measures approximately 1 1/2" X 3 " and comes with a 20" black leather cord. A smaller size cross is also available.

The art of filigree consists of curling, bending and twisting fine, pliable metal threads and soldering them at their points of contact with each other and, if there is one, with the metal groundwork.

The Budded Cross, is a Latin Cross with three 'buds." In Christianity, the three-leafed clover remind believers of the Trinity. Since there are four arms, each with three buds, another name of this cross is the Apostles Cross, with one bud for each of the twelve budding Christian apostles. Synonymous with apostle is disciple; both words mean a follower of Christ.
