COLD DUCK wine bottle BASKET with matching gift liner

Whether it be humble Cold Duck or top shelf Champagne, this basket has been designed to hold a bottle of wine. And, it comes with its own "gift wrap" fabric liner.

(Side note: What is Cold Duck?
The exact recipe now varies, but roughly, it is the combination of Californian red wine with New York sparkling wine.)

Overall this hand coiled basket measures 17 inches long. Not including the handle, it is 14 inches long. Sitting 4 inches tall, it is roughly 6.5 inches wide. It is a little larger than my other wine baskets. One standard bottle of wine or a fatter bottle of champagne will fit inside.

It has been crafted on a wooden base and has a single fabric handle. The basket comes with a coordinating fabric liner which features well, a duck. The duck is flying on one side and it is solid mossy green on the reverse. Use the liner to serve as the gift wrap when you add your own bottle of wine. Photographed bottle is not included.
Use the handle to hang it when not in use.

The basket's colors are steel blue, sage greens, aqua, and turquoise. The liner has been machine sewn and measures 16 inches by 17 inches. The liners are made from fabric sections that I save out from the basketmaking. When I encounter a larger design, it sometimes seems a shame to rip it into strips. I save these sections to use as liners later on. Consequently, each liner varies in size and availability.

My baskets are made by the coiling method of basketry. Strips of fabric are wrapped around an inner cording as the shape is formed. Each one is entirely handmade. Each one is unique.

This basket makes a great gift!
It serves well as a display on top of the buffet or dining table.
