A Taste of the Southwest...This striking necklace of natural rhodochrosite has subtle banded patterns of luscious, light-raspberry-red. The name refers to the Greek word for “rose-red”. Rhodochrosite, increasing in value and rarity, was first discovered in the silver mines of Romania. This stone is found worldwide; however, the large red crystals are found only in a few places on earth. Banded rhodochrosite is mined in Argentina and has been called "Inca-rose" for its natural deposits found there. These stones have incredible banding patterns, making each piece unique.
