Coppelia's Eye Charm Necklace
Description
This exotic charm necklace was inspired by the ballet "Coppelia, or the Girl with Enamel Eyes", which tells the story of a mechanical doll that seems to come to life.It looks like it could have come from the mysterious shop of Dr. Coppelius himself.
A round, iridescent glass eye in a pendant setting hangs at the center of a metal chain (antique bronze color).
The vintage domed glass cabochon has a mesmerizing eye design impressed and painted on the backside and coated in silver foil on the back for a reflective quality. The colors shift from from blue to green depending on the light.
Czech glass pearls in various shades of green (mint, emerald, peacock) are attached to the chain with wire-wrapped loops.
Other decorations include a detailed little ballerina charm, a lovely brass key (like the one to Dr. Coppelius' magical shop in the ballet), a lightweight brass filigree fan, and a delicate filigree snowflake charm.
The chain measures about 19", and there is a 1 1/2" extender chain that ends in an elegant glass pearl and filigree drop.
Lots of detail to enjoy in this special piece!
