I say Fricke wheels are the very best value in spinning wheels. For $368 (or $299 for non-folding model, listed separately), you can get a great folding wheel that's smooth-operating, quiet, sturdy, easy to tote, and will grow along with you. I freakin love my Frickes. They're easy to treadle, sturdy, and very flexible. Assembly is simple with excellent instructions. Plus the machined whorl just looks awesome.

The folding Fricke wheels are full sized spinning wheels with full sized bobbins, not a miniaturized wheel. The only difference is that the treadle folds up for a smaller footprint/compact transport. If space is at a premimum or you travel to guild meetings, etc. with your wheel, this is a great choice.

Frame is various hardwoods, such as ash, white or red oak. Wheel is MDF with an attractive wood grain finish on both sides.
