Description

“Color possesses me. I don't have to pursue it. It will possess me always, I know it. That is the meaning of this happy hour: Color and I are one….”
~ Paul Klee

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way--things I had no words for.”
~ Georgia O'Keeffe

“A Little Tale”…

Elementals, including faeries, are connected to and care for nature, i.e. all things of the earth, wind, air, and sky. Each is assigned by the Creator, the Alpha and the Omega; his/her own special responsibility or duty. For example, there is a Fairy of Twigs, a Fairy of Beetles, a Fairy of Raindrops, and a Fairy of Lady Bugs. You see my point, don’t you?

There was this little young fairy boy who, as of yet had no duty assigned to him due to his young age. He was a happy sort. He found joy in his heart all the days of his young life in the simple things of life, especially bright colors, the blue sky, and the yellow sun. His days were spent in nature simply enjoying all that surrounded him. He was content and asked for nothing else.

Seeing his joy in the simple, yet important things life has to offer pleased the Creator greatly. He saw this as a sign of great maturity in one so young. So, he decided to ask the young fae boy if he would like to be responsible for the three primary colors of the universe: blue, red, and yellow.

Being the Fairy of Primary Colors involves maintaining the exact and perfect formulas for each of the three colors. They can never ever vary. Just imagine if just one of the primary colors was off ever so slightly. Why, everything in the universe, as we know it, would change color-wise.

This was a huge responsibility for an adult faerie, let alone for one so young. But, the Creator had confidence and knew the fae boy would be able to handle this responsibility.

The young fae boy was honored and delighted; he accepted the position of Fairy of Primary Colors without a moment’s hesitation. He knew he could keep each of the three colors in tact for as long as his days lasted in this world.

So, from that day on, year after year, day after day, the fae boy, now an adult, kept constant vigil over the formulas for red, blue, and yellow, using the rainbow as his guide, the full bright yellow sun, and the blues of the sky. He guarded the tools of his position, such as the spinning magic color globe, the mysterious three color tree, the liquid formulas, etc., with his life.

But, as time past and the once young fae boy became very old and his eye sight started to fail and then disappeared, a result, no doubt of age, but also of staring directly at the sun many times a day for years upon years. He knew his days as the Fairy of Primary colors were over, so he relinquished his position to the Creator with great sadness.

He stumbled home, in darkness, to his little cozy cottage, climbed into his bed, which he remembered was a bright blue with red sheets, and yellow pillows, and waited for the Angel of Death to come for him. He had lost he will to live. He missed seeing the blue in the bluebonnets and blue berries, the red of the flowers, and the yellow of the sun. Blindness had robbed him of all that he loved.

Moved with great love and compassion for his little fae boy, the Creator bestowed a huge gift on his beloved fairy and made him part of the rainbow. He became the rainbow’s colors of red, blue, and yellow.

“The Scoop”…

You will not find another hutch as well crafted, detailed, and filled with so many one-of-a kind, handmade items, plus signed and dated, anywhere for this price.

The hutch is filled with numerous one of kind handmade items that the Fairy of Primary Colors would require to fulfill his responsibilities and guarantee the three primary colors’ (red, blue, and yellow) formulas never change: his magic and enchanted spinning color wheel, his three bottles of the perfect and exact formula for each color, his magic color wand, and his enchanted and mysterious primary color tree, just to name a few.

In making this miniature dollhouse scale (1:12) pine hutch, I applied non toxic paint, non toxic glue, and a non toxic finishing coat. The hutch itself stands approximately 6 1/16” tall at its tallest point and is 4 1/4” wide, including the birdhouse on the side.

I make my hutches one at a time... from start to finish. There is no assembly line in my workshop. No elves either. For this reason, this is truly one-of a-kind. I keep no written “recipes” for the color or instructions for the items I create to put into/on my hutches. Pieces on this hutch are from nature or created at the time I was working on it from materials at hand at that time.

This is an original design, story, and idea of mine.

This is not a toy. However, it was made to be used and enjoyed. From a smoke free home, this hutch comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is signed and dated.
