Description:
This is an original painting in oil, acrylic, charcoal, and metallic copper pigment on stretched canvas. It is 24 x 24" and the sides are staple-free so it is ready to hang on your wall without a frame. This is a portrait of a young woman bundled up with a green scarf with upside down poppies. I wanted to capture her personality with the variety of mixed media and with bright flat colors. The metallic background has a reflective quality that doesn't show well in the photographs I have taken. I wanted to juxtapose the more realistic portrait with the flatness of the acrylic clothing paired against abstract colorful poppies on a reflective copper background. It has been sprayed with an archival fixative and final varnish to maintain the fresh look of it being just from the studio.
