Circus Train Polar Bear Charm

Whoo! Hoo! Here comes the circus train…

When I found these old circus images, they looked like they should be pasted on the side of a boxcar from a circus train. So of course, I could not rest until I created a train full of boxcars to paste them on!

Each little car starts with a handbuilt shadow box. Next the vintage images are carefully cut and used to create a three dimensional scene inside. The car is then encased in handcut glass and soldered together in a beautiful scallop pattern. The sterling silver solder even creates bars for the cage!

The backside of this charm features a vintage polar bear ad for the Hagenbeck Circus. The inside of the boxcar is an icy wonderland…home of the polar bears!

This charm can be added to a bracelet, brooch, or even worn alone on a chain as a pendant.

And yes, of course the wheels really spin!

Approx. Dimensions: Just over 1 inch across, just under ¾ inch tall.
