Build a Cardboard Play Washer and Dryer
Description
There is nothing like a handmade present - especially one that you build with your own two hands!Using this detailed and illustrated 13-page instruction booklet, you can build a toy that will wow any small child and leave you feeling happy about your green building practices. With recycled cardboard, wire hangers from the dry cleaner, and odds and ends you most likely already have around the house, you will construct a functional washer and dryer that is adorable and remarkably sturdy. The washer features doors with see-through windows (no worries, they're plexi-glass - nothing dangerous!), hinged doors, and a set of controls to spark the imagination.
Corrugated cardboard is an incredibly strong and durable material (no wonder Frank Lloyd Wright built furniture out of it!), yet is at the same time very lightweight and portable. This washer and dryer combo maximizes those qualities by being able to always be disassembled and reassembled in minutes! No glue, no nails, no screws - instead, it is held together with a few clever joins that I designed.
The dimensions of the finished washer and dryer are:
20" width
38" height
16" depth
It is perfect for a toddler or preschooler.
