Tricky Tricky Earrings - Coloring Changing Quartz

Description

When I purchased the stones for these earrings, I thought they were the loveliest shade of pale blue. When I took them home and looked at them outside, they were pale lilac purple. That's when I realized that they were color-changing quartz. In incandescent light, they are blue, in sunlight, they are purple.

Two quartz pear-shapped briolettes hand-wrapped onto hand-made sterling silver ear wires. These are good-sized stones, but not overly heavy. They are about .5 inch at their widest point and .5 in length.

Faceted quartz pear-shaped briolettes (flat). Handmade sterling silver ear wires made with full-hard round sterling silver wire. Earrings hang about 1.5-inches long.

The pictures were all taken in natural sunlight.
