Wild Horses

Description

This wild-ass horse is an altered object. It stands approximately 2' high by 3' wide. It is painted with white gesso and has designs, song lyrics, and poetry drawn and painted on it with various forms of paint, pencil, and ink. The lyrics from the Rolling Stones song Wild Horses wind through the tattoo-like patterns, "graceless lady, you know who I am. You know I can't let you slide through my hands." Lines from Joy Harjo's beautiful, mysterious poem, She Had Some Horses, casscade down the horses legs and circle his sides. The origonal hair that came as the mane and tail have been removed and replaced with tie wire. It is way cool!
