Description

Spool Dollies are made from vintage wood spools that date from the late 1800s up to the mid 1900s and come from factories primarily located in the United States and Canada, but also come from Italy, France, and Great Britain. I hand paint each doll (including their faces), and sign and date the bottom of each spool.

Where do I get all these vintage spools? Well, the first batch was passed down to me by my grandmother, but now I have to hunt for them. You can't just mail order them like wood doll forms, so I have collected literally thousands of spools. I find them primarily through auctions and estate sales. I then carefully hand pick through every set of spools I purchase as I only keep the best ones to make Spool Dollies.
