Vermeercats with Caravaggio Card-Players--Print of Original Collage

Description

This print is a reproduction of one of my Vermeercat collages; the Vermeercat series is described below.

It is printed on fine art paper, which has a lovely matte texture and affords vibrant color and good detail. The paper is 8 ½ x 11”, so the print is slightly smaller—enough to leave a white border for matting or framing. Each print is signed.

The print is shipped enclosed in a cellophane sleeve, with a cardboard envelope for protection.

I, as the artist, retain all reproduction rights and copyrights to my work on etsy.

Each Vermeercat collage is one of a series in honor of the 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. By combining elements from several of his paintings, I was able to study and begin to understand the balance, rhythm, and coherence of his compositions. In that respect the work is serious—a way of studying a fine artist. In another respect the work is comic, being populated by a family of lovely cats in period costume. This collage has been art-historically enriched with some hybridized Caravaggio card-players in the foreground.
