Red Totem Pendant - NICHE Award Finalist Piece

Description

This pendant was selected as a finalist in the Metal:Enameled category for the 2009 NICHE Awards which were held in February in Philadelphia at the Buyer's Market of American Craft. The pendant itself is approximately 3-1/2" long and comes with a sterling silver cable wire, in your choice of length - 16" or 18".

This listing is for the single pendant shown on the lower left. The enameled copper form was created using a handmade die in a hydraulic press, then hand-sawed and enameled several times for a gradient of black to red. 24K gold leaf squares adorn the surface. A window outfitted in copper mesh allows a view within where freshwater pearls are contained and create a delicate "rattle". Set in sterling silver and signed on the back by the artist.
