These are excellent components for needle and thread work projects because the knot can be totally hidden by double backing the end of your string right into the piece after you finish tying the knot.

I've handmade my "Calamari Rings" using the wet felting technique where warm soapy bubble water meets up with a rock and rolling hand motion and agitation known as fulling. The raw wool fibers tangle into each other and become a mass of felt material. This intense rubbing process is what gives each piece a firm ply density and structure.
