Dragonfly Wing- Sterling silver and blue topaz pendant

As I was out for my morning run one day, I ran over this perfect dragonfly wing, just one. I didn't see any of the rest of the dragonfly that day, althought I didn't look for it either. I knew right as I hopped over it, that I HAD to make a dragonfly pendant, and this little blue topaz popped into my head, just a split second later, as if to say, "I wanna be on that wing!" So in my usual, 'if you don't know it can't be done, you can do it' fashion, I went home and decided to make a setting for that tiny stone and give it a home on my wing!

This pendant was handforged from sterling silver. The design was left open and rather simple, with just the tiny blue topaz set as an accent. The topaz measures 4 by 3mm and came from a lot of stones I bought that were old stock from the early 1,900's. This stone was dated at 1919 or earlier. I finsihed the piece off with an oxidized patina to really set off the stone and design.

This wing measures 3 inches long by a tad over a inch wide.
