Natural Alkanet Dye - 600 yards - Silk and Merino
Description
This is a new premium yarn I have to offer you. It is Extra Fine Lace weight in two very luxurious fibers: Superfine Merino and Silk. It really is special and I hope you will enjoy it.Color - Alkanet
The pale Lilac Gray is produced using Alkanet. Alkanet is a plant in the Borage family. The bark of the root is used to produce either red or bluish gray dye colors. You get either color depending on what mordants you use. I used Alum and Cream of Tartar to get this lovely soft shade.
Alkanet was also used in ancient times by the Egyptians and Greeks to color food, makeup, and wood.

Approx. **600** yards 80% Superfine Merino, 20% Silk. Extra Fine Lace Yarn. Approx 1.4 oz.
Because of the extra cost and processing I have priced it the same as a specialty dyed colorway - the regular price + $2.00 per 100 yards.
This is a super soft and very luxurious yarn. The feel is something extraordinary to behold.
See pattern recommendations to be sure if this yarn meets your needs. Washable by hand. Lay flat to dry.
Color varies from monitor to monitor. I have tried to offer the most reliable photos as possible...
