Ross Zirkle (1955 – 2007) was a Tamarind Master Printer and artist. Before he passed away in 2007 to cancer, he had presented his work and craft at over 24 national workshops and conferences in the past eight years and contributed to more than 25 national and international exhibitions a year as well as, several solo exhibitions. His work has been presented at the Hunterdon Museum of Art, The old Print Shop in New York, and The Monique Goldstrom Gallery in NYC to name but a few. He was my partner in art and life for the past 13 years and I would like to share some of his work with my fellow Etsy lovers around the globe.

This is a woodblock cut relief print on Somerset printmaking paper with black ink. It is a second edition run off of a plate the artist originally carved in the 1980s. Mr. Zirkle was preparing for an exhibition based on his black and white works over the last 25 years before he died. These early works come from his time as an illustrator for poets and most of these relief prints are published in poetry books and anthologies. I am selling no. 22/27. The plate was drawn and carved by the artist with woodengraving tools but printed by an assistant so does not carry the artist's chop. It is signed by the artist.
