Tetrahedral Symmetry -- Beaded Art Object Ornament Paper Weight

Description

This large beaded bead is a study in the symmetry of a tetrahedron, a pyramid with 4 faces. Although this piece is round, it has the same set of symmetries as a tetrahedron. Four copies of the triple spade motif are equally spaced around the surface. This beaded object d'art is very hollow, as the beads are held open by the tension of the thread. As a beaded bead, it has several holes that can be used to string or otherwise hang it.

The beads are all glass, including high quality 24K gold plaited glass seed beads. The colors include purple, blue, great pearl, hematite, and frosted AB white.

Nearly 5cm wide (2 inches), this piece is too large for jewelry, but would make a nice hanging ornament or a paperweight for your desk.

Signed with my custom designed gold filled tag.
