Stingray 3 Drawer Jewelry Box in Air Dried Black Walnut

Description

This is the "Stingray" box. I made this out of air-dried Black Walnut which gives the wood the pinkish color in the grain. The handles and two accent strips are made from Curly Maple to further accent the dark colors in the box and give off a translucent hologram effect in the curl of the grain. I was also lucky enough to get some curl in the grain of the Walnut as well, which you can see in the photo showing the top of the box. The box features three drawers.
The Stingray is made by me personally 100% starting with the rough cut lumber to the final waxing. The finish on the box is Danish Oil to preserve the natural beauty of the wood, with twice over buffing, then finally a coat of wax to protect it. The overall dimensions of the Stingray are approximately 5’’ tall, 10’’ long, and 5’’ deep. Thanks for looking!
