Circus Train Monkey Charm

Whoo! Hoo! Here comes the circus train…

When I found these great old circus images, they looked like they should be pasted on the side of a boxcar from a circus train. So of course, I could not rest until I had created a train full of boxcars to plaster them on!

Each little car starts with a handbuilt shadow box.
Next the tiny circus animal scene is created inside. A colorful baboon sits in the corner, a monkey dressed in coat and hat balances atop a ball…
The train car is then encased in handcut glass and soldered in a delicate scallop pattern using Sterling Silver solder.
There are even tiny soldered silver bars to keep these wild animals safely inside!

Decorative silver train wheels have been added and yes, to ensure that this is truly a JamieNoel, I built tiny little axles so that the wheels can really spin.

The backside of this 'primate car' features a vintage circus poster ad for the Hagenbeck Circus.

This colorful piece can be added to a bracelet as a charm, worn on a pin as a brooch, or put on a chain as a pendant for a necklace that will definately be noticed.

Approx. Dimensions: Just over 1 inch across, just under ¾ inch tall.
