Field of Greens glass pendant
Description
This glass pendant was made very carefully, in multiple steps. i make all my murini pattern from scratch in a hot glass studio. The process of making glass murini is a labor-of-love; I start with 3 or 4 various chunks of colored glass. I heat them up individually, and while they're hot, layer them one on top of another (like dip coat for ice cream), and then stretch out the mixed glob of hot glass to a long, thin "cane". I then chop up the "cane" to shorter lengths, stack them back together in a colored cup, or bind the canes with steel wire. (see image 4 as an example of pattern in process).i then load the bundle into a kiln, heat up the bundle and stretch it out again. When the glass is cool, I slice it up (like sushi), and polish each slice. it is only then that i can make different types of jewelry out of them.
These murini dots, heated, stretched, sliced, set and heated again. The pendant is just under an inch in diameter. It's then strung on a sterling silver chain; 16, 18, or 20 inch- Please specify your preference at check out, or I'll send 18 inch.
