I lived in Hawaii for almost ten years and only left there about two years ago. My experience in Hawaii was all very creative and I survived there only by being able to sell Hawaiian gifts, like my jewelry. Both my daughters were born in Hawaii and both are very well versed in Hawaiian crafts from basket weaving to lei sewing. We will probably all carry some Hawaii in us all the time, but today some spilled out in the form of art.

These red hibiscus designs are one of my new line of Hawaiian illustrations. The colors are subtle for a Hawaiian design, adding in part to its charm. I used this drawing in several colors, so check my other listings for the other Hawaiian hibiscus designs.

Earrings hang about 2 inches total from top of earwire to bottom of dangle bead.

HOW THEY ARE MADE:

The colorful illustrations are glued onto the front of the wooden scrabble tile and sealed with a thick layer of glass-like jewelry epoxy to give depth and dimension to the artwork as well as a protective coating. The epoxy is UV neutral so it will not yellow or fade.

Pendant tiles are drilled and hung from silver plated rings. The earwires are sterling silver. The pendant size is about 3/4 by 7/8 inch. The total earring length is about 2 inches from the top to bottom.

The earrings are packaged in a crystal clear poly-bag on a hand-stamped card.
