Green Pigeon Brooch

Description

This wee pigeon has green plumage with gold and orange highlights.

I have modeled him from polymer using tiny everyday tools like needle heads and small knives to create a beautiful brooch.

He has a standard brooch back and is designed to be worn on medium weight fabric. Is about 1 1/2" tall.

The New Zealand Wood Pigeon (or in Maori, the Kereru) is a large bird who in spring gorges to the point of intoxication on native berries. Distinctive for it's colorful green plumage and white belly.

I think it would be great if people from around the world could wear native bird images from New Zealand. What a talking point!

A great gift for the bird lover and a unique brooch on its own.

I present my birds on a hand printed backing card which includes the bird name and a description. The card is totally made from recycled products.

Please note.. the last two photos of the pigeon on the pink spotted top are not the actual brooch that is for sale but merely an indication of the brooch size.
